‘What,’ I hear you say, ‘is Messy Church’? Well, Messy Church is an opportunity for families of all ages, to meet together to have fun making things, having a bit of refreshment, listening to a short story. It’s an opportunity for parents and children to do something together that’s a bit different. It’s a chance to be together as part of a bigger family, learning new things experiencing new things.
For us as a church it is an opportunity to share something of what it means to be a follower of Jesus. He is the one who said “let the little children come to me”, and so Messy Church is for children of all ages, giving everyone a chance to express their God given creativity within a church context.
We aim to :-
provide a time for all ages to be together
help all feel that they belong
encourage all to have fun
give everyone a chance to be creative
show that being a friend of Jesus isn’t weird
introduce people to Jesus, through friendship, crafts, stories and prayer
Our Messy Church time will run something like this
welcome & refreshments
song and short story
The next Messy Church will be on Friday 23rd Sept 2016 at 4pm In the Church Hall. The theme will be Harvest.
